International Matters

The firm advises clients on a wide variety of matters involving international law. The firm has represented aircraft lessors in connection with the assertion by foreign airport authorities of statutory liens for unpaid landing fees.

We provide advice to a number of our airline clients regarding the negotiation of bilateral aviation agreements and disputes, and interpretative questions arising under those agreements. We also advise clients regarding multilateral aviation agreements such as the Warsaw Convention, the Convention on International Civil Aviation and the Convention on the International Recognition of Rights in Aircraft.

Labor and Employment

The firm represents a number of companies in labor negotiations, arbitration, and labor-related litigation. We have considerable experience in the unique aspects of aviation labor matters under the Railway Labor Act.

In particular, the firm has experience in the integration of labor contracts following airline mergers. In addition, the firm provides advice to aviation-related entities on a broad range of general employment matters such as employment-at-will, Title VII, pregnancy and other disability issues.

Legislation

The ever growing and changing aviation area produces constant legislative changes. Several of the firm's attorneys are engaged in legislative activities, ranging from drafting new legislation to lobbying both houses of Congress on a variety of aviation-related matters.
