Computer Reservations Systems ("CRS")

In addition to its involvement in major CRS litigation, the firm provides advice on a broad range of CRS matters, including legal issues affecting the development and marketing of new and existing computer reservations systems, commercial arrangements between airlines and vendors, and the possible formation of cross-border alliances, as well as developments in the bilateral negotiations process. The firm has provided representation in two major CRS merger proceedings. We also represent clients in CRS matters before the Department of Transportation, including rulemaking proceedings examining the U.S. CRS regulations.

Corporate

Zuckert, Scoutt & Rasenberger handles a full range of corporate matters, including those related to the inauguration of service and operation to the U.S. of foreign air carriers. We advise clients on the establishment of their operations, compliance with local requirements in connection with qualification to do business, licensing, and other legal requirements incidental to the startup of service to the United States.

Creditor and Bankruptcy

The firm advises clients on ways to protect their interests in the event of bankruptcy by aircraft lessees, major suppliers or travel agents. We have represented several airline clients in their bankruptcy proceedings.

For example, we represented a major aircraft leasing company in a sale and leaseback transaction that was complicated by the existence of FAA loan guarantees and IRS tax liens. We also have advised clients on the availability of Section 1110 protection for their interests, and have represented creditors in various airline bankruptcy proceedings.
